Salwar Kameez and things

I am newly married and so I am composing this article. To have a flawless wedding with the perfect man is great and I was lucky enough to have both!

The style of our ceremony was South Indian and Telugu. To ward of issues during the ceremony we commenced with prayers to Lord Vinavaka. In Indian bridge tradition I purchased a saree for the wedding. In particular I selected a ‘Kanchi Patu’ saree where Kanchi means silk. Wearing a red or yellow saree is very favorable whereas black should be off limits for a wedding.

It is a mistake to avoid eating ahead of the wedding to be able to fit into smaller clothes. A steep decline in calorie intake in the busy lead up to the wedding will result in a tired and exhausted look for the wedding and wedding pictures. Maintaining a balanced diet is the recommended approach. Remain well hydrated with water and fruit juices while getting ready for the wedding to maintain your energy levels. Upon attending a friend’s wedding I thought I was at the wrong one for a bit! My friend was unrecognizable with all of the makeup she wore, which is a testament to keeping your look natural, and using a trial to ensure you look great. Given that it is your wedding you need to attempt to look great!

The food served is a very important part of the wedding. A traditional wedding will consist of 10 to 15 entrees, 4 to 5 side dishes, and 4 to 5 starters. Items such as plain rice, biryani, naan, dosa, Sambaar, Daal, Rasam, vegetable curries and fried vegetables are the typical food with vegetarian being the norm.

It is an expectation that you will server desserts during the wedding. Kheer, laddu, barfee, halwa, jalebi, gulab jamun, roshogulla and dry fruit and nut sweets are in high demand at these weddings. For a few days ahead of the wedding festivities will occur at the bride’s home and groom’s home. During the ‘mehandi function’ which is the most anticipated at the bride’s home, her hands are adorned with designs using Henna.

Both families get together sing and dance the night away during an event called “Sangreet’. An Indian wedding is a huge affair involving very intricate planning and design and guest counts that can number in the hundreds. For a few days or even a week the festivities continue. The bride’s parents are responsible for the pre-wedding events and their cost can run into the thousands of dollars. The Internet is a source of Indian wedding videos.
